Market Finds #4

In addition to 4 qts. of delicious Eagle Farms strawberries,  YJDKIY acquired delicious and gorgeous Swiss Chard from Correll Farms for just $2.50.

Arriving back home, I chopped it up, sauted in olive oil, pepper and garlic salt, and added some egg beaters for a savory and slightly salty breakfast. Which started off my leafy green Saturday! Lunch involved kale and a salad, and dinner included spinach!

If vegetables got grades for traditional nutrients alone, Swiss chard would be one of the vegetable valedictorians. The combination of traditional nutrients, phytonutrients (particularly anthocyans), plus fiber in this food seems particularly effective in preventing digestive tract cancers. Read more about chard.
